Missy Hyatt was a rising star in World Class Championship Wrestling in 1986, managing real-life boyfriend John Tatum. When the couple joined the Universal Wrestling Federation, though, Hyatt left her charge to join "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert's Hot Stuff International stable. Soon, the stable was renamed H & H (Hot Stuff & Hyatt) International, Inc., and behind the scenes, "Hot Stuff" and Hyatt became an item. A jilted Tatum left the promotion, and Gilbert and Hyatt soon married. The two joined the NWA in 1987, but Missy found greater success than Eddie. In 1989, "Hot Stuff" and Hyatt divorced and Eddie Gilbert left the NWA.
