If you don't know that Hulk Hogan based his entire schtick on Billy Graham, then you don't know who Billy Graham is. It's that simple.

The OTT promo style, calling everyone "brother", calling his arms "pythons", putting his hand to his ear to pop the crowds, the headband, the feather boa, the tie-dye, the bleached blonde facial hair, all things that every single wrestling fan would associate with Hulk Hogan, and all things that actually originated from Superstar Billy Graham.

There has always been talk that this was out-and-out theft on the part of Hogan, and despite how logical that might sound it's always been the case that Graham has never seen it that way. A young Terry Bollea was a student of his, even idolised his work, and he's largely flattered that he had such a profound impact on the iconic persona he could come to dominate pro-wrestling with.

It's not just Hogan either, as the likes of Jesse Ventura and Ric Flair also took direct inspiration from the man and routinely label him one of the biggest influences on their careers.
