10 Wrestlers Who Must Return To Impact Wrestling

It’s time to make Impact sleazy again.

TNA had Joey Ryan before he became a huge indy darling, so every passing month he makes them seem more and more foolish for not giving him a decent opportunity.

Ryan made his debut in the company on Gut Check, and despite being the best, most ready for prime time talent they had in the competition, he wasn’t offered a contract. Only through fan backlash did the promotion finally give him something, but it was bungled from the start. Ryan’s heat in the story was with Taz, but since The Human Suplexing Machine couldn’t wrestle, he was shoehorned into an angle with Al Snow which failed to gain much traction.

Ryan was finally given a deal, but management never got the character. He’d ref some matches, sexually harass a few Knockouts and team up with Matt Morgan. The thing is, despite Ryan’s character being sleazy, there’s something likable about it. TNA just made him a creep who was booked as the weakest member of the roster. Unsurprisingly, it didn’t work.

Ryan continues to make waves on the indy scene, and has been featured in a few viral videos over the past couple years. He knows how to create a buzz. He has his supporters, and could be of great help in getting lapsed fans to give Impact another chance.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
