10 Wrestlers Who NEED A Huge 2024

6. Jay White

A near-faultless AEW rookie year for Jay White was brought to a crashing end in All Out’s main event. White losing to MJF felt a fait accompli going in, with a build that had its moments but trod a lot of water. The match itself, though, was genuinely damaging. White threw everything he had at a one-legged, match worn Max and still failed to get the win.

The overbooked mess of a blow off was particularly annoying because the two surely would have had a fantastic bout under normal circumstances, but for White, the plummet down the card feels worrying. He’s picking up wins in the Continental Classic, but no longer feels the arch heel capable of pushing the company’s top babyface to his limits.

This is Jay White we’re talking about, mind you. He’s as good a guarantee for a great match as the company has (bar Danielson), and still boasts a hugely impressive win-loss ratio for whatever that’s worth.

That he does need a rebuild so early in his tenure with the company, though, is worrying stuff.
