10 Wrestlers Who Never Competed In A WWE Ladder Match

4. John 'Bradshaw' Layfield

JBL WWE champion

When Bradshaw became JBL in 2004 the change came completely out of left field, the only inkling that something was up being that JBL's long black locks had been replaced by the middle aged quiff of a stock market trader. Oh how naive we were...

Regardless of whether he was portraying a miffed Texan bar brawler or a rich Texan snob, JBL never had the pleasure of taking part in a ladder match in WWE. You'd have assumed that during the Attitude Era he would have taken part in some mass tag team plunder match, but you'd assume wrong.

Unless the future sees a shocking comeback this isn't going to change. JBL is a future Hall of Famer that no one saw coming, and will be another Hall of Famer who missed out on the ladder match craze.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
