10 Wrestlers Who Never Recovered From Awful Debuts

6. EC3

Have WWE managed to miss a bigger open goal in recent years than that of Ethan Carter III?

EC3 looked like the sort of performer Vince McMahon dreams about (though it's still to be confirmed whether he does actually sleep) and his fairly brief spell in NXT suggested that he was being fast-tracked to the big time.

Yet, after being announced as one of the newest faces arriving on the main roster in December 2018, EC3 spent most of his time flexing into mirrors backstage and would only officially make his in-ring debut in February.

It was here, during an appearance on A Moment of Bliss, when the potential main eventer was dealt the first of his many damaging WWE blows since returning to the company. Instead of allowing EC3 to present himself as the rich, entitled, charismatic star he could be to the fans all around the world, Nia Jax interrupted the 'Top 1%' before he had a chance to say a single word.

Dean Ambrose then arrived to knock the mic out of his hand (and the wind out of his sails).

EC3 may have won the match that followed, but this jarring debut proved that the company really didn't know what they were doing with him. This issue plagued the remainder of his WWE run.

He may not have recovered from this god-awful introduction, but at least he's got off to a better start since returning to Impact with a grittier look and altered attitude.
