Another 2003 banger here from Smackdown! saw the Master of the 619 take on Matt Hardy (Version 1) in another reminder of how exciting the cruiserweight division could have been, if given half a chance.

The two went back and forth for 15 minutes altogether. Hardy's goobers (Shannon Moore and Crash Holly) interfered throughout before being banished from ringside. Mysterio and Hardy mixed plucky high-flying innovation with devious heel tactics to create an in-ring story that was as simple as it was compelling.

As Hardy started to dial up the punishment on the luchadore's now injured hamstring, it looked as if these odds would be insurmountable for the Ultimate Underdog, not being able to pull off his trademark 619.

Rey-rey battled back and decided to mix-up his offense by evading Hardy's attacks and using the former Team Xtreme member's own weight against him.

With his hamstring in bits, Mysterio resorted to a leaf out of his opponent's book by releasing a Twist of Fate (V2) on Hardy. Performed with the kind of smoothness and speed that had become the MO of Mysterio by this point, the audacity of the move was enough to send the crowd into a frenzy. Factor in that it was performed so deliciously and set up Mysterio's eventual victory, this finisher mimicry can be filed under 'success'.
