10 Wrestlers Who Proved Their Worth In A Crisis

9. Sammy Guevara

It's weird and probably very dumb to conflate Sammy Guevara with some of the luminaries on this list, especially given the enduring scope of their achievements, but for 40 intoxicating seconds, the Spanish God on Dynamite made fans celebrate the worst possible scenario.

He made those watching at home glad that nobody was in attendance. If they were, they'd have sang Judas, and not him.

Guevara was beyond priceless on Dynamite this week. Chris Jericho made his entrance to guest commentate on the Inner Circle Vs. Elite six-man main event, but Le Champion's presence commands an audience singalong, since Judas by Fozzy is every AEW fans' most-played song on Spotify since October 2019. Guevara filled the aching void by grabbing a nearby microphone in a scene of t*t-popping sycophancy.

This was in character. That's what was so amazing about it. Guevara idolises Jericho, and sought to please him by playing to his ego. He butchered Judas as if Jericho were the teen idol, and he the hysterical, sodden girl, throwing metaphorical panties at Jericho's face.

He could have done with the real thing, to hide his corpsing, but that was the charm. Everybody on that show was on a night-long quest to pop everybody else.
