10 Wrestlers Who Purposefully Deceived Promoters

Kevin Nash knew that WCW were unlikely to let him out of his contract if he said he wanted to buddy up with Shawn Michaels in the WWF. So, unbeknownst to everyone, Nash purposefully lied to Ole Anderson and said he was sick and tired of the wrestling business when he actually just wanted to try his luck elsewhere.

WCW let Nash out of his deal so he could go back to bouncing clubs, and the big man signed with the WWF.

Amazingly, Nash's last match (a tag match as Vinnie Vegas with Big Sky against The Cole Twins on WCW Worldwide) aired after he'd already made his WWF debut alongside HBK on 6 June 1993. With Michaels, the renamed Diesel found his feet and would eventually become World Champ less than 18 months later.

He was babbling nonsense when he told Ole that he wanted out of wrestling. That was a lie concocted so that Anderson wouldn't smell a jump to the WWF, and it worked an absolute treat. Nash returned to WCW three years later for massive money.
