Nikki Bella may surpass AJ's record pretty soon. But how many times has she actually defended that title? How many times has she done tag matches with Brie, or simply cheered her sis from ringside? But then again, AJ was guilty of the same sort of behavior she wasn't a fighting champion all of the time, and at times didn't even defend the belt at PPVs either. She was also selective with her house show dates, particularly in the months leading up to her retirement from late November 2013 to early March 2014, she didn't work a single house show. Granted, she was nursing a neck injury, but rumour has it that she already had one foot out the door. She had become disenchanted with the business. She thought little of the Divas division she was queen over, even going so far as to give a shout out to the NXT Divas instead of the Raw Divas at the Slammys. Plus, with her husband embroiled in a lawsuit with the WWE, the brass wanted her out of there they didn't need her collecting additional ammunition to be used against them.
