10 Wrestlers Who Regret What They Did AFTER WWE
8. Damien Sandow
Having one of the most entertaining debut runs in WWE history, Damien Sandow was one to watch in 2012. Presenting himself as an intellectually superior heel, Sandow stood out from the crowd. When he became 'Sir' Money in the Bank the following year, everything seemed to be in his favour.
This all came to a crashing halt, however, after The Intellectual Saviour became the first wrestler to lose the MITB cash-in match. Struggling to recover momentum, Sandow persevered and turned an unlikely gimmick of being Miz’s doppelgänger into a highlight of WWE's 2014.
Despite his tenacity for winning back fans' approval, Sandow petered out after his feud with The Awesome One. He was released in mid-2016.
After his departure, Sandow emerged on TNA, under the name Aron Rex. Despite becoming the inaugural Grand Champion, Rex floundered while he was there. Finally, after several months with the company, Sandow took a hiatus from wrestling to pursue an acting career.
Managing to get some roles, Sandow wasn’t able to land anything big in acting and has since returned to the ring, wrestling on NWA Powerrr.
While Sandow was a victim of bad booking in WWE, the choices he made following his release failed to gain much attention.
