10 Wrestlers Who Regretted Jumping Ship

9. Raven

McMahon had no idea that Johnny Polo reinvented himself since leaving the WWF in 1994, as Raven revealed during a classic Talk Is Jericho appearance.

So the master of psychological warfare, a two-time ECW World Heavyweight Champion, was dead on arrival when he returned to McMahonland in 2000. It was a tragic waste of talent because Raven was perhaps the most innovative character of the nineties, a perpetually pessimistic sociopath tailor-made for the Attitude Era.

Because of McMahon’s understanding of the character, or lack thereof, Raven was relegated to the Hardcore division, smashing fellow directionless ECW castoffs with garbage cans and kendo sticks.

He was treated like a jobber, competing only on secondary shows like Sunday Night Heat, and even becoming an announcer again, before being released in early 2003.
