10 Wrestlers Who Regretted Jumping Ship

8. Shane Douglas

A decade before Matt Striker educated wrestling fans, there was Dean Douglas.

Accompanied by his trusty chalkboard and “Board of Education” paddle, Douglas would grade fellow wrestlers on their performances, often failing fan favorites. It was a cute concept for the wrong guy – Douglas had already been the ECW World Heavyweight Champion, a cocky jock who referred to himself as “The Franchise.” While he was a legitimate school teacher outside the ring, the audience didn’t recognize him in that subdued role.

His WWF run lasted less than six months, as he became a target of the Kliq. When Douglas was scheduled to win the Intercontinental Championship from Shawn Michaels at In Your House 4, Michaels forfeited the title after being assaulted by a group of Marines the night before.

Although Douglas was awarded the title, he had to immediately defend it against Kliq member Razor Ramon, who defeated him in 11 minutes.
