10 Wrestlers Who Regretted Jumping Ship
5. Road Warriors
Hawk and Animal made numerous visits to WWE, and none of them were worth it.
When they first jumped from WCW in 1990, McMahon rechristened them the Legion of Doom. They teamed with Ultimate Warrior in several battles against Demolition before winning the WWF Tag Team Championship at SummerSlam 1991. They lost the belts in February in a taped, but never aired match against Money Inc. Then they brought in their old manager Paul Ellering, who WWF fans didn’t know or care about, and a ventriloquist puppet named Rocco. Understandably, Hawk was p*ssed and left.
When they returned, they won the titles again, but lost them to the New Age Outlaws a month later. They evolved into LOD 2000, with a more modern, badass look and Sunny as their valet. Apparently, alcohol and drug issues came with the look, as Hawk’s real-life substance abuse became storyline, creating a wedge between him and Animal.
The nadir of their run came when Hawk faked a suicide jump from the Raw TitanTron - a disgusting angle that has left a foul taste since his untimely passing just a few years later.
