10 Wrestlers Who Returned Under A Mask
6. Isaac Yankem
Glenn Jacobs has worn many hats - and masks - in his lengthy wrestling career.
He'd donned masks even before arriving in the WWF, portraying such delightful characters as Doomsday, Unabomb, and The Christmas Creature in various independent promotions.
Jacobs arrived in the WWF in 1995 as Isaac Yankem DDS, the demonic personal dentist of Jerry "The King" Lawler. Jacobs was used as a proxy by Lawler in his battle with Bret Hart, leading to Jacobs' first Pay-Per-View match at SummerSlam 1995.
The dentist gimmick was so typical of the WWF in the mid-nineties; a wrestler having a job-based gimmick. The company were clearly trying to get behind Jacobs by placing him in a feud with a top star like Hart, but the goofy gimmick severely limited what he could achieve.
Yankem vanished from WWF screens in 1996. Jacobs would have a brief run as "Fake Diesel" following the departure of Kevin Nash to WCW, where he wrestled in sunglasses and a wig, but not a mask.
It wouldn't be until Badd Blood 1997 that Jacobs would don a mask once more. In one of the greatest debuts of all time, Jacobs ripped the door off the Hell in a Cell and laid out his brother, The Underaker, in a moment that would define Jacobs' career forever.
To quote Vince McMahon "That's gotta be Kane!".
