10 Wrestlers Who Returned Under A Mask
4. Austin Aries
Speaking of Christopher Daniels, he was one of many wrestlers who took a turn at playing "Suicide" in TNA.
The character's origins can be traced back to TNA's one and only video game, released in 2008. Players play as Suicide during the main story mode of the game, so, to tie-in with the release, TNA actually made Suicide a real-life character on their weekly shows.
Various wrestlers have played Suicide over the years, including Kazarian, TJ Perkins, and the aforementioned Daniels. But one wrestler used the mask in a big way back in 2013.
"Suicide" captured the X Division Championship on an episode of Impact in 2013. However, TNA authority figure, Hulk Hogan, discovered that this Suicide was actually an impostor and that the real Suicide - TJ Perkins - had been attacked and had his costume stolen.
Hogan demanded that the fake Suicide unmask, which he did, revealing himself to be TNA icon, Ausin Aries, who announced he was intending to trade in his newly-won belt for a World Championship match under TNA's "Option C" rule.
Whilst Aries would lose the belt before he could earn his world title match, his return as Suicide was a truly shocking moment. And, unlike Bound For Glory 2018, this shocking moment was planned.
