10 Wrestlers Who Sacrificed The Most To Become WWE Champion

10. John Cena

There are probably people reading this thinking that Cena doesn't deserve to be here because he's got the body type that WWE loves and he was pushed as a main event performer when he was in his early mid-20s. That's true, but he's also dealt with some major injuries that he was able to overcome to earn his spot as one of the most durable main event performers WWE has ever had. Leading up to the 2008 Royal Rumble, Cena wasn't supposed to be there. On the October 1, 2007 edition of Raw, Cena tore his pectoral muscle in a match against Mr. Kennedy. He was initially diagnosed to be out or anywhere from seven months to a year. He was back for that 2008 Royal Rumble in just under four months and he looked as strong as he ever was before. Later in 2008, Cena had surgery on his neck after taking a Batista Bomb. That caused Cena to miss about three months of action. If you look closely, you can still see the scar on his neck where they cut into it in order to perform the operation. He's dealt with a number of injuries from a broken neck to torn biceps and every time he did, he came back from those injuries faster than anybody expected. Love him or hate him, his durability is unparalleled and a big reason why he is one of the greatest WWE superstars ever. Amazingly, despite all the wear and tear, Cena might be going through the best year of his career right now.
