10 Wrestlers Who Sacrificed The Most To Become WWE Champion

9. Batista

The bigger you are, the more likely it is that you are going to tear muscles. That's something that happened to Batista multiple times throughout his career, yet he was still able to continue on and be the main event guy that WWE had hoped he would become. He missed most of 2003 due to a torn triceps. When he was nearly ready to come back, he tore his triceps again and it cost him even more time. That was a crucial point in his career because he was only on the main roster for about a year at that point and it was unknown if he could get through it to live up to his enormous potential. When he came back, he proved that he could be a top guy because after an impressive 2004, he was pushed to the top in 2005 as the Royal Rumble and also the headliner of WrestleMania 21 when he beat Triple H for the World Heavyweight Title. In early 2006, when he was the man on the Smackdown brand, he tore his triceps again (he blamed Mark Henry for it in his book). Then in 2009, he suffered a torn biceps injury. That's four different arm surgeries over his career. A lot of people thought he was using steroids and/or some other substances and that was the reason he was tearing muscles. Maybe he was, but he was never suspended by WWE for it. Batista ended up winning a combined six World Titles in his WWE career and while he may never wrestle again, he should be very proud of everything he accomplished and overcoming all of his injuries.
