8. Powerhouse Hobbs
AEW may not have a WWE style brand split but there are certain acts on the roster who seem to show up more often on Fridays than Wednesdays, including the boys from Team Taz. So, with Rampage hosting its own battle Royal tonight(and with battle royal specialist Kyle O’Reilly not yet cleared to compete) it would be good to see a rampage regular get the win and the title shot. Namely, Team Taz’s resident brick sh*thouse, Powerhouse Hobbs.
The match has huge potential, Hobbs trying to bully Mox with brute force power moves. Plus, if we’re being honest, your writer will take any excuse to get Ricky Starks onscreen, seconding Hobbs and lighting up the ring apron with his glorious facials.
Hobbs has a history with Mox too, with the pair briefly aligned against Team Taz before Hobbs turned. That would add an extra wrinkle to what would otherwise presumably be a fairly straightforward build.
