10 Wrestlers Who Should Challenge Jon Moxley For The Interim AEW World Title
7. Hook
People might not like this but at some point Hook’s undefeated streak needs to come to an end. AEW are already telling that story with Jade Cargill and shouldn’t be repeating themselves.
Meanwhile, that perfect win/loss record could inform him getting a shot at the interim title. It’s hard to imagine the laidback star being bothered to even call his shot but that’s where his dad steps in. Taz could throw one of his hugely entertaining apoplectic fits insisting his son is due a shot.
Having been so dominant in short matches so far, a slightly longer match than he’s used to against Mox could be really useful experience for the younger man. It would also be a test of his range and selling abilities.
Plus, as with Jungle Boy, having this greenhorn lose to veteran like Moxley doesn’t really hurt the youngster. They could even have Mox take Hook for granted as an easy win, only to be taken aback by some surprise offence.
Hook is still massively over with the fans and received as a babyface but associated with a heel stable, which could inform the post match. If Hook earns Mox’s respect we could see Taz look on in horror as a Hook defection to Blackpool Combat Club is teased.
