Oh, here we go. A Cesaro fanboy.
Here us out.
In a period where the likes of The Miz, Jinder Mahal, Alberto Del Rio, Big Show, Sheamus and Mark Henry held the belt, there was never a reign given to arguably the best wrestler WWE had on its roster.
Yes, Cesaro isn't the most dynamic talker on the mic, but looking at the aforementioned list, neither were half of those names either. What makes Cesaro's WWE singles career so disappointing is he was always in the conversation of the best wrestler in the company when the bell went. A seasoned indy vet, the man was capable of putting in clinics or igniting the crowd with his explosive offence.
Go back and watch the reaction he received when he won the first Andre Memorial (when it was meant to mean something). Watch the crowd's reaction during his matches with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns from 2021. The man may not have been a talker, but he connected with the crowd.
Sometimes, wrestling is as simple as putting the belt on the best wrestler. And for his decade in the company, Cesaro was comfortably in the conversation.
