10 Wrestlers Who Should Have Been WWE Heavyweight Champion
2. Razor Ramon
Last week, the wrestling world mourned the tragic loss of Scott Hall.
As one of the most influential men in wrestling history, hearing about Scott Hall's passing shook the entire community and we send our thoughts and prayers to his friends and family.
As Razor Ramon, in an era where kayfabe was still very much intact, we discovered that it was cool to be the 'Bad Guy'. Oozing more charisma than anyone else in the business at the time, Razor Ramon was electric whenever he was on the screen. The term 'oozing machismo' should never have worked, but when you looked at him, you realised it was apt.
The fans wanted to cheer for him, even when he was flicking toothpicks in his opponent's face. The man was huge, but moved so quickly and the Razor's Edge was one of the most dominant finishers in the business. It's still one of the few finishers that haven't been reduced over time.
From the historic ladder match with Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania X, to his shock defeat to the 1-2-3 Kid, to kick-starting the nWo with his invasion of WCW, Scott Hall changed the business.
The fact that Razor Ramon never wore the WWE Heavyweight Championship around his waist is one of the saddest truths in wrestling history.
'Hard work pays off. Dreams come true. Bad times don't last, but Bad Guys do.'
RIP Scott Hall.
