10 Wrestlers Who Should Hold The AEW All-Atlantic Title
9. Matt Cardona
Since leaving WWE, the former Zack Ryder has been something of a revelation. It was all too easy to forget during the tail end of his WWE, but Cardona is a hugely entertaining and creative guy. His Z! True Long Island Story webseries is a direct antecedent of Being The Elite, and he proved that you don’t need a promotion to decide to convey stardom by pushing you. Instead, you can use the internet to tell your own stories and create your own fanbase.
Even though the “Thousand Dollar Broski” didn’t land a full-time AEW deal off the back of some guest spots in 2020, his influence still hangs over The Elite and their joyous creativity. Admittedly, AEW aren’t doing much to celebrate The Elite right now, but hopefully they’ll soon be back in the fold.
Since leaving the Fed, Matt’s been a riot collecting belts and upsetting the purists. He declared himself a death match king and added rare touches of deliberate levity to EC3’s cinematic Free The Narrative shows. It would be great to see AEW get in on the fun and repay his influence by giving him a short reign with the All-Atlantic title.
