10 Wrestlers Who Should Hold The AEW All-Atlantic Title
5. Eddie Kingston
Since turning babyface to save Jon Moxley, Eddie Kingston has been massively over with fans. He is a guy capable of drawing cheers against CM Punk, even at the height of “The Second City Saint’s” popularity as the comeback king. But despite tilts at the World Title, TNT Title and Tag Team Titles, Kingston has always fallen short. It’s about time “The Mad King” had some gold to take home to Ruthie.
Kingston doesn’t need to have a long run as All-Atlantic Champion; he’s the kind of sentimental favourite where the chase is more important than the title reign. In fact, Eddie is the perfect foil to get massive heat on a heel challenger who cheats to bring his reign to an abrupt end.
Of course, Kingston might have harmed his case after his recent backstage spat with Sammy Guevara. Eddie apologised, but might he lose his cool again in the future? As Tony Khan looks to steer AEW out of troubled waters, he might be looking for a safer pair of hands to hold the gold. The last thing TK wants is to strip or suspend another champion. Nonetheless, strapping up Eddie Kingston would be a hugely popular move, even if it’s only for a little while.
