10 Wrestlers Who Should Never Turn Face

8. Triple H

That Triple H has been able to perform in a babyface role at any point over the last 20 years is an achievement in itself. Is there a more hatable character in the entire industry? HHH started as a privileged blue blood before befriending the schoolyard bullies, riding on the coat-tails of the industry’s most irritating (and incredible) talent before literally marrying his way into a position of real power and influence. If you still want to cheer for Triple H, you are a lost cause. When the revolution comes, you’ll be all sorts of confused.

There’s more. NXT has flourished under Triple H’s wing, but the company’s recruitment drive has seen the independent wrestling world struggle. WWE’s developmental wing has sprouted its own branches, decimating the British and European wrestling scenes along the way. Triple H is the man at the heart of this obliteration.

Triple H might have booked some excellent pro wrestling in NXT over the last few years, but The Game is as much a part of the machine as anyone else, even more so in truth. He has used his power to hold down more deserving talents, and no amount of pointing at dudes is going to cover that up.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
