10 Wrestlers Who Should Never Turn Face
3. Nia Jax
There was a time when Nia Jax could have grown to become one of the biggest babyfaces in WWE today. Undeniably different to the rest of the roster, backstage shows like Breaking Ground showed Jax in a fresh light, as a likeable performer struggling with the expectation of her lineage and the day-to-day difficulties of being Nia Jax in a world of Carmellas. Jax did turn babyface ahead of WrestleMania 34, where she defeated Alexa Bliss in emotional circumstances to become RAW Women’s Champion.
But somewhere along the way, the likeable Jax became one of the most irresponsible workers on the roster. Not stopping there, Jax backed up her recklessness by bragging about it on social media, using her inability to improve as a crutch for Twitter beefs and entitlement. Nothing guarantees heat like entitlement, with the possible exception of actively hurting your colleagues. Combine the two and you have enough heat to last a lifetime.
All this without talking about the physical dominance Jax has over the rest of the women’s roster. Many of the great big competitors of wrestling history have struggled to gain babyface sympathy in the face of such physical gifts, so expecting Jax to do so is naive at best, idiotic at worst.
