10 Wrestlers Who Should Own WWE After Wrestlemania 29

7. Damien Sandow

damien sandow It was in April 2012, after Wrestlemania 28, when vignettes started to air to build up the arrival of Damien Sandow on WWE television. In May the Intellectual Saviour of the Masses arrived on Smackdown. The combination of his aggressive style in the ring and his fantastic ability on the mic quickly helped him stand out as one of the more unique and engaging heels on the WWE roster. His wit and quick thinking make him a match for anyone on the mic, and it is his cutting promos that he delivers as he makes his way to the ring that get both the biggest laughs and the biggest boos. In September Sandow aligned with Cody Rhodes to form Team Rhodes Scholars, and they quickly became number one contenders for Team Hell No's Tag Titles. Despite a lengthy challenge, the two couldn't take the titles though, and their partnership has been on and off ever since. At Wrestlemania the two were supposed to team with The Bellas to take on the team of Brodus Clay, Tensai and The Funkadactyls. Due to time contstraints however the match was cut, surely a blow for the superstars, and instead rescheduled for Monday Night Raw the following night. The short match saw Sandow take the pin, a sight that has become all too frequent for any Sandow fan in recent months. After his strong start on the main roster, Sandow quickly joined Rhodes as fodder for faces such as Sheamus and Alberto del Rio, and suffered regular losses on the WWE's two flagship shows. Like many of his peers Sandow fell into the trap of serving as a jobber, albeit a talented one, used to establish main event stars before Wrestlemania. Despite that bleak outlook though, 2013 could and should be a big year for Sandow. His work with Cody Rhodes continues to impress and entertain, and the two could easily return to the tag title picture without anyone questioning it. A run with the tag gold would be good for Sandow, who is yet to carry any gold under this guise in the WWE. However Sandow is one of the most unique heels in the business, and he has an edge and flair that few others manage to match in the locker room. It is time he was allowed to spotlight that on a bigger stage with a singles run. There is no need to rush things with Sandow, who is just 31, by pushing him straight into the main event, and a run with a midcard title would be a good start. Allowing him to carry the title with some pride, speaking in his educated and condescending tones about its heritage and prestige, would serve both him and either midcard title, and would set him up well for an assault on the main event in the future.
