10 Wrestlers Who Shouldn't Return For WWE's Brand Split 2016 This Week

7. Cryme Tyme

Shad Gaspard and JTG were a lot of fun as a mid-level comedy act in WWE’s Tag Team division throughout the late 2000’s. The gimmick grew stale over time, but Cryme Tyme were an entertaining act with great chemistry who always delivered in their backstage skits, especially throughout their 2008 feud with John Morrison and The Miz.

So what’s the problem? WWE already have the Golden Truth and BreezeDango to fill their low-tier comedy tag team quotient, so there’s no real use for them in 2016. They’re also not all that good in the ring, and the last thing WWE’s tag division needs is another subpar set of wrestlers as they attempt to rebuild their long-suffering Tag Title scene.

Then there’s the gimmick. You can argue that it crossed the line of bad taste back in 2008, but now? It’d sink like the Titanic. Cryme Tyme always portrayed themselves with a strong hint of irony, but in an increasingly PC world, there’s no place for an act that leans so heavily on negative stereotypes.
