10 Wrestlers Who Still Have Something To Prove In AEW
7. Brian Cage
AEW made a big deal of his arrival, handing him a Casino Battle Royal victory on his debut appearance and digging out Taz’s old FTW belt for some ECW clout.
Sadly Cage has proven himself the least interesting of AEW’s big men. Without the deadpan comedy of Jake Hager, the murderous edge of Lance Archer or the untapped babyface potential of Wardlow, Cage lacks a USP beyond his impressive physique. Sure, those muscles would make Vince McMahon drool but he’s in the wrong company for that.
His cause wasn’t helped by the arrival of Ricky Starks. Not every wrestler is a great talker and it can be fine to lean on a mouthpiece like Taz but Starks has left Cage looking outclassed for charisma and presence. Plus Starks was immediately a more compelling rival to Darby Allin. Increasingly, “The Machine” looks like a spare part in his own stable.
