10 Wrestlers Who Suffered A Crippling Crisis Of Confidence

10. Alexa Bliss

Alexa Bliss was never really in the running to be NXT Women's Champion. In fact, before being called up to the main roster in 2016, Bliss didn't work one TakeOver match at all, and she lagged behind the brand's top women like Bayley, Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair, Asuka and others.

That didn't go unnoticed.

Bliss has said in interviews, including one with Lilian Garcia's 'Chasing Glory' show, that she wasn't exactly full of confidence when WWE called her up to SmackDown. That self-doubt was down to the fact she hadn't actually achieved much as a wrestler in the company; she'd been a valet and had only worked approximately ten matches on NXT TV.

Armed with the knowledge that she was a rank rookie in the ring compared to some other women, Alexa wasn't sure she deserved to be promoted from NXT. Her confidence soon shot up thanks to multiple Women's Title wins across both top brands.
