10 Wrestlers Who Were Given Way Too Many Chances

4. Hornswoggle

Absolutely everything WWE did with Hornswoggle was beyond terrible. Well...except maybe WeeLC, that was kind of fun...but besides that!

'Swoggle was hired because he’s short, and Vince McMahon thinks short people are funny. That is just a fact of life in his world. Horny was originally cast as Fit Finlay’s leprechaun, which immediately made the badass brawler 300% less cool. Even when Finlay left, 'Swoggle stuck around, bouncing around from one awful thing to the next.

He was the last Cruiserweight champion before the title was retired, he was revealed as Vince’s son, he teamed up with DX, he was the anonymous GM, and he paired up with The Great Khali and the 3MB. It was essentially 10 years of one Wrestlecrap moment after the next.

You can’t really blame Dylan Postl—the man behind the leprechaun gimmick— as he was just doing what he was asked. But no matter what he did, it wasn’t going to work. Vince’s humor is undeniably terrible and there was no way he would ever create something interesting for Hornswoggle to do. Hell, even the movie Leprechaun was terrible!

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
