I think, now, that after an untold number of documentaries, podcasts, network specials, autobiographies, speaking tours, and "uNtOlD sToRiEs", we all know what the Montreal Screwjob is. On the off chance you're coming into this brand new to the term then, well, my god, you have such an exciting afternoon ahead of you. However, for the benefit of the 99% of the WhatCulture audience who are so bored of having it explained to them, we'll skip the basics.

After he'd left the ring Hart headed straight to the back and into Michaels' locker room, where he demanded answers on what had just happened. With Vince locking himself inside his office, he was the only immediate outlet for Hart's frustrations, but Michaels pleaded that he knew nothing about the finish and was just as upset as he was.

When Vince finally found the courage to go speak to Hart (read; after he was forced to do it by an incensed Undertaker) he found nothing waiting for him but a right hand that dropped him to the floor and, in the ensuing scuffle, sprained his ankle. Hart showered, left the arena, and wouldn't work with the company again for eight years.
