10 Wrestlers Who Were Right To Walk Out On WWE

9. Goldust (2019)

Goldust hasn't spent his entire career in WWE, although it sure felt like it before he requested his release last year and jumped to AEW. Stints in WCW and TNA filled the gaps between WWE runs as Dustin Rhodes (Dusty's babyface son) and the quite magnificently bold golden gimmick.

It would've been so easy for Dustin to rest on his laurels and play the Goldust character part-time in WWE for as long as he liked. Instead, he fancied joining his brother in All Elite, stretching the confines laid out for him by his status as a nostalgic character in Vince McMahon's world and giving himself a renewed sense of purpose.

It was the right call.

Dustin killed it against Cody at Double Or Nothing last May, and he's gone on to become a cherished veteran amidst AEW's ranks. Fans respect his choice to favour family over job security, and they can see now that the Goldust gimmick had overstayed its welcome anyway.
