10 Wrestlers Who Were Shoot PISSED As Soon As The Match Finished

WWE

It's hardly a hot take, this, but WWE's "women's revolution" marketing is such total b*llocks. It might be the most brass-necked sh*t they've ever tried to pull off.

It wasn't as if the Divas were just encouraged to dress suggestively or given two minutes on TV and about six on PPV to cast the slightest illusion that they weren't onscreen just to look pretty. The culture was bone-deep.

This was the "PG era" too; before that, WWE didn't gave the slightest toss about pretending women were hired for any other purpose. Michael Cole was loud and obnoxious when calling NXT season three, but, given what was "discovered" in 2022, it all sounds deafening now. The old boy's culture was so horrifically obvious - on a broadcast! - when Michael Cole called the infamous Kaitlyn Vs. Maxine match of October 2010.

The match was horrendous - at one point, Kaitlyn accidentally speared Maxine when attempting an atomic drop - because they didn't know what they were doing. WWE screened it anyway because they thought it was funny. Cole's mean-spirited, gleeful burial was toxic. Just horrible.

Kaitlyn was pissed and embarrassed at the finish. She knew it was disaster and all but owned up to it.

The poor woman could probably hear Michael Cole potentially costing her a job; as much as Jim Ross likes her gym pics, he wasn't a key decision-maker in 2010.
