10 Wrestlers Who Were The Last Person To Take Iconic Moves

5. Ric Flair's Figure Four Leglock - Paul Heyman

Of all the classic opponents Ric Flair faced through nearly half a century in the ring, it's somewhat perverse that the last man to be locked in his patented figure four leglock was not a wrestler.

During the 2012 edition of the oh-so prestigious Slammy Awards ceremony, The Nature Boy was on hand in Philadelphia to present John Cena with the Superstar of the Year statuette. Like an absolute toady, suck-up Cena doffed his proverbial to Flair, and handed the award back.

Such a flagrant display of fawning naturally drew the ire of CM Punk, who as the then-WWE Champ who'd held the strap for nearly 400 days, insisted he was the rightful recipient. On crutches at the time, he bragged he could batter Flair with one leg. Some boast to a man in his 60s.

Anyway, a scrap inevitably ensued, which saw Punk poked in the eye, before Slick Ric described his favourite number on the legs of Punk's advocate, Paul Heyman. Aside from a tiny tease as he gifted the move to The Miz, of all people, in January 2013, that was the last time we saw Flair apply the hold on TV. The time is his daughter's now, and her mathematically superior figure eight. Plus these days, WWE won't let Flair brush against a feather for the brief moments they allow him on camera.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
