Will we ever see CM Punk send somebody to slumberland with his Go To Sleep again? If you're a regular reader of our monthly rumours columns, then the answer is a definite yes, allegedly, on the night of any given, upcoming WWE PPV.

Well, it hasn't happened so far since his semi-return to the fold as an FS1 analyst, and it still seems rather unlikely for the time being. But Punk's only 41. Keep in mind Bret Hart, another man who left WWE under the cloudiest of clouds, was 40 when he did so. Anymore Sharpshooters seemed a remote possibility, but sure enough, he was back doing them under WWE auspices over ten years later. There's time yet for Punk to change his mind.

For now though, the last person to Go To Sleep via his knee was, peculiarly, Wisconsin indie journeyman Darryck St. Holmes, who took the move as part of a bizarre masked Punk cameo on an MKE Wrestling show in 2019. It's never been confirmed that it was indeed Punk under the hood, and given how crap the GTS was, you can't blame him for denying it. But it was.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
