4. Bobby Lashley

WWE have always wanted Bobby Lashley to be WWE Champion at some point. Unfortunately for the All-Mighty, his original run was plagued by a bland character and bizarre booking decisions, such as having him win the ECW Championship at December to Dismember in 2006.

Returning to WWE in 2018 after an excellent run in Impact, Lashley looked set to have the WWE run he should have had a decade prior. Unfortunately, WWE yet again failed to understand that standing Lashley on stage and expecting fans to turn out in their droves was never going to happen. Queue a forgettable Intercontinental Championship run and a disastrous "feud" with Rusev and Lana and Lashley seemed destined to slide down the card.

Since forming an alliance with MVP and Shelton Benjamin as part of the Hurt Business, Lashley appears to be rejuvenated. The group have proven to be one of the more entertaining parts of Raw each week and their momentum has made Lashley a worthy US Champion. Hopefully, when the group finishes burying RETRIBUTION every week WWE can hold off on breaking them up before too long and Lashley can have a strong run at the top of the card that WWE felt he was always destined to have.
