10 Wrestlers Who Will Benefit From Triple H Running WWE Creative

7. Ciampa

Whether they preferred him as one half of DIY, a nasty, title-obsessed heel or the no-nonsense grizzled veteran knocking about with Timothy Thatcher, few fans who enjoyed Ciampa on NXT would have predicted his current association with The Miz. Miz is Mr Sports Entertainment, whereas Ciampa is the sort of guy whose entire presentation screamed “wrestler” even when he was calling himself, “The best sports entertainer in the world.”

So is their pairing going somewhere? Or did creative have little else for a guy that doesn’t have the height or youth Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis were, until very recently, prioritising? Either way, one of NXT’s most beloved veterans feels like a spare part on the main roster.

Ciampa once said he never wanted to leave the black and gold brand but that was before that brand essentially ceased to exist, replaced by splashes of colour. With the architect of that brand now able to exert his influence over Raw and SmackDown, surely creative will have a better idea of what to do with the “Blackheart.”
