10 Wrestlers Who Will Define AEW's Future
5. 'Hangman' Adam Page
A few years ago, it was rumoured that the Elite were heading to WWE. While names like The Young Bucks were said to be heading straight to the main roster, 'Hangman' Adam Page would have to report to NXT.
Now, there's no shame in being sent to NXT. Prince Devitt, Kevin Steen and Tyler Black all received the same treatment, whereas names like Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson probably wish they had. However, it perhaps said something about the way WWE viewed the Virginia native.
Fast forward a few years and Adam Page is a key figure in AEW. In fact, at one point, it looked like 'Hangman' would be positioned at the very top of the card, fighting none other than Chris Jericho in the first ever AEW World Championship. Since losing to Jericho, Page has slipped down the card but this is only temporary.
Page has a unique gimmick for a mainstream wrestling company in 2020. He's part Steve Austin and part Barry Windham, a talented 12-year veteran whose best days are still very much ahead of him. Whether 'Hangman' turns on his Elite brethren, or is instead betrayed by them, he is going to be a key part of the companies future and a guaranteed mainstay of their main event.
