10 Wrestlers Who Will Never Be WWE Champion Again

4. Kevin Owens

Has it really been five years since Kevin Owens was handed the WWE Universal Championship on a silver platter by Triple H? Truth be told, it is difficult to judge whether it feels longer ago or shorter. Much has happened in the half a decade since that fateful episode of WWE RAW, but Owens has spent much of that time treading water and spinning his wheels. Yes, he's been in plenty of world title feuds, but at what point has his winning seemed like a real possibility?

Kevin Owens should be a multi-time world champion in WWE at this point, but it is clear that the creative team sees him at a certain level. That level does not involve pinning Roman Reigns, Bobby Lashley or any of the men who will follow them as champion. Owens will continue to be portrayed as a threat when such a threat is required, but nobody will believe that glory awaits.

In fact, the only way that this situation changes is if WWE decides that they desperately want to keep Owens and stop him showing up on AEW Dynamite. The safe money would absolutely be on Kevin Steen winning another world title before Kevin Owens does.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
