10 Wrestlers Who Will Never Get Another Big Push

For a period of time, Paige was the most aggressively pushed woman in WWE. After winning the Divas Title in her first night on the main roster, it appeared she would be cast in a top role for years to come. Unlike so many models playing wrestler in the company at the time, she had years of experience and had proven to be a solid in-ring worker.

Things soon started to cool down a bit for her. Her face turn didn’t translate effectively, and she quickly ran out of opponents who were over enough to feud with after she turned heel. While she found herself with a featured role on Total Divas, she began feeling like more of an afterthought in the women’s division.

While Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch were given a triple threat match at WrestleMania 32, Paige was reduced to a 5-on-5 tag match. A string of injuries and a couple of Wellness Policy violations soon followed, and she will likely have a tough time receiving a big push again when/if she returns.

Besides all of that, she’s butted heads with WWE management on multiple occassions, and has been vocal about her frustrations with the company on social media. Recently she appeared backstage at Impact wrestling to be with her husband Alberto Del Rio, which is unlikely to have gone over well with her bosses. Her biggest saving grace is the upcoming movie based on her life, which WWE is co-producing.

Paige is still young enough to make nice with management, but it’s going to take a lot of good faith between both sides for her to ever receive a big push again.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
