10 Wrestlers Who Will Never Get Another Big Push

7. Darren Young

Darren Young never received a Goldberg-like push, but looking back at total TV time in 2016, you can see WWE invested quite heavily into him for a bit. Over the course of a couple months he was featured in a series of skits with Bob Backlund, which seemed to drag on forever, and were more weird than exciting, but still, he actually received some decent reactions when presented in front of a live audience.

Young was rewarded with a pretty good opportunity when he won a battle royal on Raw to earn the right to face The Miz at Battleground. Management refused to capitalize on the momentum he'd gained, though, and had him come out on the losing side of it. Mr. No Days Off then took quite a few days off, as went back to being a non-factor in terms of storylines and often wasn't booked on TV.

WWE either couldn't figure out what to do with him for a next chapter, or they simply didn’t care, as they inserted him back into a feud with Titus O’Neil, which did neither man any favors. Since then, Young's most notable moment was being cast in the sensitivity training sketch with Enzo Amore.

Currently out with an injury, Young isn’t likely to receive a series of skits to highlight his return. The former Tag Team Champion’s best days are almost certainly behind him.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
