10 Wrestlers Who Will Never Get Another Big Push

5. Sheamus

Sorry fella, Sheamus is never going to be pushed as aggressively as he was a few years ago. That's especially a shame for fans who loved the version of his character that cracked jokes about his relatives. While it seems like ages ago, at one point, he was the No. 2 babyface in the company behind John Cena.

However, his character was too similar to Cena to establish The Celtic Warrior as a true alternative. They were both booked to be unstoppable, and both were telling cornball jokes that very few people over the age of 12 enjoyed.

After a 210 day run with the World Heavyweight Championship, Sheamus began his slide down the card, and eventually turned heel. He did get another run with the WWE Title, but no one bought him seriously in the role, because they could see he was being set-up merely to be massacred at the hands of Roman Reigns (along with the rest of the League of Nations). When the group disbanded, Sheamus became destined to ride out the rest of his days in the midcard.

At 39-years-old, he's still a good big man wrestler. But the damage has been done. All of the jobs and “you look stupid chants!” have turned him into far too much of a joke to turn back. The man loves the business, and he still has a role to play, but it certainly won’t be as the second biggest good guy in the promotion.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
