10 Wrestlers Who Will PEAK In 2023
2. Konosuke Takeshita
Per the dirt sheets, Takeshita, who has recently signed a permanent contract with AEW, is in line for a big push. If you’ve seen him wrestle a few times, that won’t come as a surprise.
Takeshita looks like a main eventer in the waiting in the US, his homeland, or both. His size accentuates his immense power, but his cat-like agility and aerial ability comes as a surprise every time he steps in the ring.
In AEW, commentators and rivals alike have been cautious to put him over as a major force in his every match. Most recently against Bryan Danielson, he was kicking out of finishers and powering out of submissions en route to a knockout loss, but a major mark of respect from his main event opponent.
He has even locked horns with World Champion MJF, getting the opportunity to show a little character standing up to the brash heel. When he walks to the ring, fans in attendance don’t necessarily know who he is; by the time he’s finished wrestling, they certainly know his quality.
