Speaking of which, it's no surprise to anyone involved in WCPW that Pete Dunne has been causing waves in WWE. The 'Bruiserweight' character Dunne developed made him the perfect heel for the UK Title tournament, and it was obvious just from looking at the man's facial expressions that William Regal loved Dunne's performances just as much as everyone else.

He wasn't alone. Fans enjoyed booing Dunne, even if several in Blackpool were probably rooting for him to win all along. That wish would eventually come true when Pete was booked to beat Tyler Bate for the United Kingdom Title at NXT TakeOver: Chicago. Everyone from Jim Ross to Steve Austin put the match over as a winner.

Ross would have been familiar with Dunne already, because the veteran announcer had commentated several of his matches in WCPW. Whether he was being introduced by Eric Bischoff, chomping the fingers of opponents or starting a short-lived tag-team with Travis Banks, Dunne was leaving a lasting impression on WhatCulture's fan base.
