Draws: 2

Asuka’s talent is indisputable even based on her WWE success alone. She has held the Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and Tag Team Women’s Championships, as well as winning the first Women’s Royal Rumble match. All of which she achieved with technical prowess and a believably stiff striking style.

She started the year as one half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions with Kairi Sane, which the team would hold until WrestleMania 36. However, Asuka’s singles career suffered a major loss to Becky Lynch at Royal Rumble. Despite getting down to the final two in an Elimination Chamber match, Asuka lost the opportunity to rechallenge for Lynch’s championship at WrestleMania 36.

Asuka began her comeback winning the Money in the Bank match. However, she didn’t get to cash in her briefcase. On the following Raw, Lynch announced her hiatus due to pregnancy and awarded Asuka with the Raw Women’s Championship. She proved her worth as a fighting champion. At Clash of Champions, she defended her Raw Women’s Championship against Zelina Vega and tried, but ultimately failed, to win the SmackDown strap from Bayley.

Asuka ended 2020 as both Raw Women’s Champion and Women’s Tag Team Champion with Charlotte Flair.
