Bobby Lashley started 2020 in a dire feud with Rusev over the affections of Lana. Lashley and Rusev’s feud fizzled out, with Lashley retaining the services of ‘The Ravishing Russian’. After a loss against Aleister Black at WrestleMania 36, Lashley began a winning streak but was directionless. His salvation came in the form of MVP, who pushed him to a WWE Championship opportunity against Drew McIntyre at Backlash. Lashley lost, blaming Lana for interfering, thus putting an end to the romantic angle that was dragging Lashley down.

MVP and Lashley recruited Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander to form The Hurt Business, with Lashley taking the title of CEO. The group have been one of the most over acts on the red brand. After a feud between United States Champion Apollo Crews and The Hurt Business, Lashley won the US Championship at Payback. Lashley also picked up a win against then-Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn in a Champion vs. Champion match at Survivor Series.

In WWE, nobody’s career had quite the turn around that Lashley achieved.
