Seth Rollins will always treasure 2020 as the year he welcomed his daughter into the world. However, in terms of career success he had one of his worst years, losing 60.4% of his matches.

He began the year with a great gimmick as “The Monday Night Messiah”, heading up a cult composed of Murphy and the Authors of Pain. Despite drawing #30 in the Royal Rumble, and scoring three eliminations, he only lasted just over four minutes. He had a glimmer of success capturing the Raw Tag Team Championships with Murphy at Super ShowDown. However, the team lost them ten days later.

His No Disqualification loss to Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 36 produced an entertaining match worthy of the card. Though he feuded with Drew McIntyre, he failed to take the championship from the Scot at Money in the Bank. However, a win over Rollins, a former world champion, helped McIntyre’s momentum.

Rollins’ “Eye for an Eye” feud against Rey Mysterio bordered on ridiculous despite the talent of both men. His and Murphy’s feud with the Mysterio Family was one of SmackDown’s main storylines, until Rollins took paternity leave.
