10 Wrestlers Who Would Have Made Better Managers
2. Enzo Amore
Perhaps a controversial entry here, but again—not one that
reflects poorly on the guy. Because I genuinely believe that Enzo Amore is one
of the greatest talkers of all time, no matter which era you compare him
against.
Back in the early 2000s, week-in and week-out we’d see the Rock come out and deliver some of the most entertaining trash talk we’d ever heard. And that’s exactly what Enzo’s doing every week on Raw, with the kind of originality, creativity, and most importantly confidence, that we haven’t in years or even decades.
Plus, he’s working within the confines of the PG era, which only makes it even more impressive.
Regarding his in-ring work, though, if I did have one complaint to make it would be that his matches are a little formulaic; start the match, take a beating, tag in Cass for the finish. Sure, it works, but it’s nowhere near as unique as the work he’s delivering when a microphone’s in hand.
For the sheer gulf in class between his perfectly passable wrestling ability and his truly awesome mic work, Enzo Amore may well have made a better manager than a wrestler.
