10 Wrestlers Whose Most Memorable Moment Was In Defeat
9. Bill Goldberg's Streak Ends At WCW Starrcade 1998
Goldberg was the WCW World Champion with a record of 173-0 (WCW made up the number) and it looked like there was nobody that could stop him. He ran through everyone on the roster, including the untouchable Hulk Hogan. Then Kevin Nash beat him for the World Title at Starrcade 1998, thanks to Scott Hall using the taser. A lot of people look to this moment as the end of WCW (or at least the beginning of the end). It's funny how a guy can win that many matches without losing, yet it's that singular loss that people will remember the most. It was typical of WCW to end something so important in such a stupid way. Instead of having some rising star beat Goldberg for the title, they went with Kevin Nash, who had a lot of influence on WCW's booking committee by that point (shock horror). Goldberg's streak was impressive, there's no doubt about that, but the loss he suffered to end it all is what people remember the most.
